Two Words for my Haters

To all the people who hate me or like to hate on me, I have two words for you? “Who cares?”
Have you ever been on Facebook and read the status where someone mentions their dislike for haters? Being an avid Facebook user, or addict. Depends on how you look at it, I have noticed a lot of people love to

hate on being hated on. Here is a secret of life. Not everyone is going to like you. No matter what you do, no matter how good you are, no matter how much you love everyone, no matter how many good deeds or even how nice you are to them, someone is going to not like you. Even Mother Teresa has haters.

She even wrote a poem about it. Well it might not be about haters, however if Mother Teresa was born in the 90s, she might have called this poem, “To all my haters.”Mother Teresa of Calcutta (26.8.1919-5.9.1997)...

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

If you are really successful, then you will have a lot of people not like you. That is just the way of this world right now. If you want to change the world, start with the one person you have control over. Yourself. Eye for an eye, or fighting fire with fire will do nothing to the haters out there. It will just make them feel satisfied they were able to get under your skin. If you really want to get back at them, then live the best life you can. You have control over yourself, and hating them will not serve you. Giving them credence will do nothing but stress you out. I know it doesn’t feel good to be not liked.

One thing to remember is that there are people who like who. If you are really lucky there is someone out there who loves you as you are, right now. Life is all about what you decide to focus on. Focus on the people who don’t like you, you will be miserable. Focus on the people who love you and you will feel joy.

To be honest I have never understood the idea of allowing someone who doesn’t like me to get under my skin. If they do not like me, why should I care what they think of me? Especially if they say something to make me feel bad. Why would I allow someone who meant to hurt my feelings actually hurt my feelings? Now that I think about it, it doesn’t make sense to allow someone who didn’t meant to hurt my feelings to hurt my feelings.

When it does get to me, I do a simple exercise. I take responsibility for my feelings. If someone says something that hurts my feelings it is because there is a part of me that believes what they are saying. Think about it, if someone called you a name that didn’t even make sense, you would be confused. You wouldn’t be upset. It is your association with that word that causes the pain.

Plus the belief that the person should act different. Here is another secret of life. People act like they should act, based on the fact that they are acting the way they are acting. Meaning, people don’t act the way you think they should. No matter how many times you punch them in the face, they will never act different. You do have control over how you act and how you react. You have the power.
