There is a saying, it is better to give than to receive.
I do not think that saying is true. Mostly because receiving in itself is one of the best gifts you can give to someone. Think about it. When you give someone a gift and they do not receive it, does it feel good? If they tell you, “no, no, no, no.” Now think about how it feels like when you give someone a gift and they feel excited. They love the fact that you just gave them that gift.
Doesn’t giving feel better when the person who receives accepts your gift with joy? Then why would it
be a good thing to not receive? Why would you deny someone that amazing feeling?
Receiving with gratitude is just as good as giving with gratitude. In fact, receiving is one of the ultimate gifts that you can give someone.
When I made the decision to become a joyous person, I decided that I would be a person who receives all gifts. With a thank you. And that has allowed me to grow so much. All I do is just say “Thank you,” from the bottom of my heart. It feels so good to give that person that gift of my receiving. Since I have done that I have received much more than gifts.
If you believe in the Law of Attraction then receiving or allowing is one of the most important parts in the Law of Attraction. If you cannot receive with joy the gifts from your friends, how can you receive the gifts from the Universe?
With love and joy in your heart, receive. It is just as good, if not better than giving.

I’m not sure that is the intended context of the quote, but this is definitely a good take on it. This is a discussion on the attitude of receiving, which is really important and should be discussed at length with quite a few folks. I like it.
Acts 20:35 “In everything, I have pointed out to you [by example] that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more [a]to be envied) to give than to receive."
It is a teaching scripture. Once you learn to give, you also learn how to receive, because your heart is different. You certainly brightened my evening, made me laugh, and gave me food for thought. Thank you.

I LOVE the excitement on someone’s face when I give them something that they really want. It makes it that much more special.
Hi! Stopping by from the UBC and Facebook. LOVE this post! It’s so true – it’s disappointing when someone either refuses to accept a gift or exhibits little enthusiasm or gratitude when you give a gift – and equally discouraging to the person who gives you a gift if you don’t receive it with a thankful heart.
I remember the first Christmas that I made gifts for my younger sisters. I was just learning to sew and had made stuffed animals for them. I was more excited about seeing them open those gifts than about whatever awaited me under the tree!
I also appreciate when someone gives me a gift that demonstrates obvious sincerity and the effort it took in either making or choosing the gift.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
