The Elephant in the Room

Ever do something that scares you?

When I do an activity that scares me, I know that I am growing as a person. As a person who has social anxiety, a place where I practice growing is Toastmasters.

When I create a speech, I think to myself, “What speech can I give that can cause me to grow?” As someone who experiences social anxiety, speaking about a topic that scares me is a good way for me grow. I set my intention on stepping out of my comfort zone and being open to failure.

When you have social anxiety and trying to create a business, you want to take big steps. That is because all of the mid steps between success triggers social anxiety. I understand. My mission plan has been,

1. Create Business
2. All the stuff I want to skip
3. Profit

The way to build myself up with confidence for the profit building activities I want to skip is to set my intention on something smaller. Instead of trying to create a speech that will win the International Speech Competition and get Oprah to see it on YouTube to get me to speak on her show, which will then solve all my problems. I set my intention to just grow as a person. My intention is one that I can achieve and celebrate easily.

Intention -> Action -> Celebration. They keys to success.

Do Not Let Social Anxiety Hold You Back

Do you have a dream? A passion? Do you let social anxiety hold you back?

If you can answer yes to all those questions then you are in the same boat as me.

I am someone who has experienced social anxiety since I was eight years old. The best way I could explain the experience is to imagine every time you go outside that everyone is paying attention to you. Not only are they paying attention to you, they are judging ever action that you do. And every action you make is wrong.

Social anxiety has kept me from a lot of good experiences over the years. Especially when it comes to running a business. I love helping people. I love inspiring people. I love working with my clients. Unfortunately, all of the activities it gets to clients triggers my social anxiety. Yes, I know trigger can be a trigger word for some people. Networking, calling up prospecting clients, and even discussing my business felt draining and left me feeling empty.

When I felt empty it would lead me to a cycle of feeling pumped about my business, doing all the activities I can to build it, and then feeling empty so I take a huge break.

In the last year and a half, I have done a lot of soul-searching and research on how to break myself of that habit. And I am here, right now ready to create the best 2017 ever!

I want to take you with me. You have followed me for a while now and I am so thankful for your support. My gift to you is a complimentary session Kick Social Anxiety In The Butt Session where we will shine Alight on your roadblocks, create clarity on your passion, have a plan for your dream, and feel energized and renewed for an amazing 2017!
