telling yourself that you will only be happy until when you have completed the goal. Soon you will be looking back at your life wondering where all the time went and why you spent so little of it enjoying yourself.

If you view your goal like taking a vacation then the joy of your vacation would be getting to the end point. Which of course means that your endpoint is at home. If that is the case, why even go on vacation? That is because the fun of the vacation is the stuff in between leaving home and going back that is the point. The memories, the sights, the sounds, and the good times are the reason you go on vacation.

Switching to a more project oriented viewpoint or direction if you go by Richard Bandler‘s The Secrets of Being Happy, is that you look at your life more about how you got there. You will avoid the empty feeling that can come from reaching your goal. The, “well I did it, but now what?” You will be ready to take on the next new project.

Oh the joys of life! Of course this is build up for my next blog about building your wonderful 2012. Look forward to it. I command you! Just kidding. Also remember, don’t stop believing and hold on to the feeling.

Continue reading »]]> Spiritual life coach Brett Dupree looks back on the year 2010.

2010 is coming to a close. I am grateful for how amazing 2010 was for me. 2010 was full of great experiences and great insights that helped me grow deeper into being the person that I am. 2010 was set apart from other years was the lack of outside resources that facilitated my joyous expansion. 2010 was more of a year for me to step up into my spiritual awakening. Instead of going for outside sources like books, seminars and podcasts for my discoveries on the nature of myself I tended to look within me and ask my own inner wisdom. With the help of my own life coaches I was able to make many great inner discoveries. That doesn’t mean I didn’t discover some really good placebos that helps me facilitate my growth. As with the placebos of 2009 and the placebos of the decade, what I mean by placebo is an outside source that helps me feel good about myself and that taught me a good principle that I could use in my life.

Spirituality and universal truths do nothing when they are left on the shelf and not acted upon. When I read books, attend the seminars and take what I learned, acting on the in my daily life is when I noticed extreme growth. Basis of my coaching and my teaching is for you to take your spirituality and live it in your reality. Placebos of the year award is to give you a window into how I am taking what I learned and putting it into my life. This is my second time giving out this award. I am thinking next year I should make a placebo trophy. So I can send the winner a trophy that has on top sugar pills.

Esther Hicks: Esther Hicks is a woman who channels the entity Abraham. Looking back on my placebos of the decade you would notice that she was in my top 15 list. Law of attraction is still a big part of my life. Learning about the law of attraction has helped me become a more joyous person. While giving me the tools to help manifest wonderful things in my life. This year the entity known as Abraham have put a huge emphasis on this idea called “The Vortex.” They release a new book about getting in the vortex that is help me put more of the ideals of the law of attraction into my daily life.

Recently Jerry and Esther Hicks has released a meditation CD with a guidebook. I got my hands on this CD four weeks ago and I’ve been listening to the general well-being that meditation every morning. I have found that listening to this meditation every morning does a good job setting the tone for the rest of my day. I highly recommend Jerry and Esther’s meditation CD.

What I learned from Jerry and Esther Hicks through their work there writing has done more than enough to put them in the nominations for placebo the year 2010

National Hypnosis Day: Early in 2010 there was a national hypnosis day. At the Seattle public library the Northwest hypnosis skills held a full free full day hypnosis conference. That day was a wonderful experience for me. I gained great clarity on where I want to take my business. Also on that day was a day I finalized exactly what my free e-book was going to be. Which you can download by going to my website www.joyousexpansion.com. National hypnosis day came at a perfect time for me since I was looking for a opportunity to go into a trance in real life. Before national have noses the conference I only went through with the CD or from reading a book. I thoroughly enjoyed the presenters and gained a lot and I’m looking forward to next year’s national hypnosis day.

Evolve Your Brain by Joe Dispenza: In early 2010 I also went to a speech given by Joe Dispenza. The two hours speech at the Center for spiritual living in Seattle was a very inspiring speech about how to direct thoughts in my mind. The speech also gave me insight to how my brain works, how the neurons connect, how I can use visualization and repetition to create new neural network connections in my brain to change my habitual thoughts.

I was so energized from listening to Joe Dispenza speak that I went out and bought his book. Evolve your brain is in extremely thick book. Not only is it over 470 pages long, there is not a wasted sentence in the entire book. Every paragraph is filled with so much information the book is almost overloading. However if you want to know how your brain works in a scientific way and how to use that knowledge into getting what you want in your life there is no better book that I found.

What I apply from this book is that every morning I spend at least 15 minutes visualizing my ideal self. I visualize how I want to look, how I want to act, how my ideal life would look like, how I would treat people, how I reacted many situations, and how I would go by the day as my ideal self. The more I have done this visualization more I am living as my ideal self in everyday life. The visualizations from this book is helping me living my joyous expansion spirituality and my important and personal values in my everyday life

Toastmasters: A friend of mine asked me if I was interested in joining Toastmasters. I can honestly say that joining Toastmasters was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. Toastmasters is a wonderful organization that exists to help people in public speaking. The confidence I have gained from facing a fear of both writing a speech and then giving that speech has been amazing. I feel so much better in my ability to talk in front of people.

The greatest part about Toastmasters is the fact that it’s really helped me in writing speeches and how to communicate my ideas that I have to people in 7 min. and learn how to frame it in a way so I don’t confuse my audience and really help drive my point across. The benefits I happen Toastmasters in my daily life is hard to describe. Toastmasters has helped me be more of myself in front of people into really only who I am. I highly recommend Toastmasters to anyone who is thinking of it.

Quantum Entrepreneur by Heather Pickens: The quantum entrepreneur program that is designed by Heather Pickens is a program that helps use the principles of the law of attraction for business. Through weekly talks and exercises, people are taught how to shift their beliefs and use the law of attraction to get them where they want to go in their business.

One of the best aspects of the quantum entrepreneur program by Heather Pickens is the fact that Heather really cares about her clients and truly wishes for their success. By going through the program myself I can tell she is really put her heart and soul into her program. Joining the program, listening to weekly talks, even participating if you have the time, going to the forums, and doing all the exercises it would be nearly impossible not to gain great value from this program.

Quantum Entrepreneur by Heather Pickens. Choosing a winner this year was extremely difficult as it is every year. Each one of the top placebos has affected my life in a very positive way. Quantum entrepreneur won the award due to the fact that it really helped me give focus on my business. I realize what I was asking for when it came to building my coaching business and notice how small it was. I also noticed that I was not giving my full commitment. Joining and participating in the quantum entrepreneur program has helped me solidify my commitment to not only my life coaching business, is helped solidify my commitment to creating a joyous expansion in this world. I am a ripple that will affect many lives. The year 2011 I am going from a ripple to a tidal wave.

Continue reading »]]> One aspect of business writing I have noticed is the enjoyment some people have for dismissing the Law of Attraction in business. I have read a few business blogs that mention that the Law of Attraction does not work in business because you need to do more than sit on your couch wishing for your business to be successful. When I was researching coaching a few years ago I got a book called, “Getting Started in Personal and Executive Coaching,” I remember a passage about coaches mistakenly relying on the Law of Attraction.

Blogs and books that mention not using the Law of Attraction in business are mistaken. The Law of Attraction can be very helpful in business. These authors are mistaking the Law of Attraction for wishful thinking. They make it seem like the Law of Attraction is me sitting on my couch, visualizing what I want and then having the item poof into my existence. This is a pretty decent explanation of the Law of Attraction. The poof into existence part though is not just having the item appear out of nothing. The poof into existence is me taking steps based on inspired actions. The Law of Attraction can be broken down into three parts. They are focusing on what you want, feeling the best you can about what you want and taking the inspired actions. When your thoughts and emotions are lined up with what you want magic happens. This is very helpful if you are an entrepreneur. Working on your own is much easier when you are inspired. When you are inspired you do not have to motivate yourself to do the actions necessary for your business to succeed. They just flow naturally. When you are inspired you are no longer working. Instead your job becomes your play. How is having your job be your play not helpful for your business?

5 tips for starting your business

The thought of starting your business can be very daunting. You want to keep your thoughts and your emotions lined up with what you desire for your business. Here are some processes if you are not feeling into full emotional alignment with your business.

1. Play the “wouldn’t it be nice” game. When first starting a business it is easier to focus on what you do not have instead of looking at what you do have or want for your business. It can be very daunting to look into the future at all of the things you want when you have so little. Tell yourself or write a list of what you want and start each sentence with “Wouldn’t it be nice.” This will help align your emotions into what you want. Just telling yourself what you want could cause you to feel negative emotions, however, you cannot feel the negative emotions when you say, “Wouldn’t it be nice.” How can you argue the fact that “Wouldn’t it be nice” if you had great things happen for your business? You can’t.
2. Positive aspects. Writing down the positive aspects of your chosen business and your ability to perform will focus yourself on what you want and help you feel positive emotions for your goal. When writing down the positive aspects, just write down the positive aspects. Do not justify or apologize for them. Write them down as positive as you can.
3. Scripting. Just like you are a movie producer and your business is your movie, script how it is going to go down. The more emotions and descriptive words you use in your scripting, the more powerful your script will be. You can script what you do each day as you get up and/or you can write one big script on how the next year is going to go. This is a fun exercise.
4. Gratitude. Write a gratitude journal for your business or write down five things you have gratitude about when you wake up. When you focus on gratitude, you are training yourself to focus on what you want and how to feel better about your day. Doing this will help put you in a position to receive inspirations for your business.
5. No plan B. Eliminate your plan B’s. A plan B will only divide your focus into two different directions, with one direction getting the more positive of the focus. Remember the Law of Attraction works with focusing on what you want and feeling great about what you want. When you have a plan B your positive focus is on plan B because you believe that plan B can happen. When you have a plan B you are going to attract plan B into your reality. Instead of inspirations happening for your business, they will happen for your plan B. I’m not saying you should quit your day job. Make having a day job while you are building your business part of plan A.

5 tips for keeping in the flow

Once you feel great about your business it is ideal to keep yourself in the flow. Events will happen and sometimes those events will cause you to feel negative emotions about your business. Here are five easy Law of Attraction tips that will help you keep in the flow for your business. Spending a few minutes each day on one or more of these tasks will help you stay in that positive flow.

1. Celebrate your victories. Sometimes it is too easy to look at what is going wrong with your business. When you celebrate your victories you will keep focus on what is going right about your business. Remember, if you celebrate every little thing then your life will be one big celebration. Also celebrating is fun and feels good.
2. Future celebration letter. You do not have to wait for the positive event to happen to celebrate it. When you know what you want you can celebrate it before it even comes to you. Send a friend a celebration letter for your business from the future. It is a good idea to tell your friend beforehand. Make this friend a future celebration buddy. Send each other celebration letters back and forth and amazing things will happen.
3. Affirmations. Affirmations best serve you when you are already feeling good. Creating affirmations for your business when you are already in the flow will help you stay within the flow. Plus you will be focusing yourself on the you that you know you are. You will reprogram your brain for success while feeling great.
4. Visualize your ideal business. Visualization also works better when you are already feeling good about your business. When you visualize while you feel in the flow you will not feel the negative emotion that can happen when you are not feeling at your best. Also visualization is much more fun when you are feeling in the flow of your business.
5. Rampage of Appreciation. Rampages of appreciation are one of the most fun things you can do to help your business. The rampages of appreciation are based on two parts. The first part is the appreciation. You talk to yourself, a mirror or a friend about what you appreciate about your business. What do you love about doing your business? How does it feel when you connect to your customers? Say all of them that come to your mind. The second part is the rampage. This is an explosion of appreciation. Keep going for a few minutes mentioning all of the aspects of your business that you appreciate. Project out the positive feelings the best you can. The more you rampage the better you feel. When you finish your body will be buzzing with pleasure about your business.

These ten tips are just a small sample on how the Law of Attraction can help your business. After you go through the processes you will notice that you will get ideas about your business. The follow through with these ideas will be easier than you have ever experienced. You will change your perspective from motivating yourself through a fear of failure to inspiring yourself with the joy of fun. Your business success will improve and you will enjoy doing it. Remember, life, even the business aspect of it,is meant to be enjoyed.

This article is about the beginnings of my career as a spiritual life coach. Spiritual Life coaching has changed my life for the better. Thinking big is a wonderful example on how changing my focus on what I desire has changed my perspective. I went from having almost no ideas on how to grow my business to having many ideas. Spiritual Life Coach Brett Dupree Presents: Learn from my mistake and Think BIG

While reading Michele Pariza Wacek’s article 3 Simple Steps to Taking a Quantum Leap in Your Biz, about how to grow your business fast, I had a realization. When I read the first point, “think big” it dawned on me that when it came to my coaching business not only was I not thinking big and going the slow route, I was planning on struggling.

In my research before I decided to become a life coach, I read that there were two different types of coaches, business coaches and life coaches. If I wanted to make money, I would have to be a business coach because they could earn over $1000 an hour. As a life coach, I would be doing well if I earned $150 an hour and would probably top off at $40000 a year.
I did end up making the decision to go for it and become a life coach, however I did not jump in all the way. This is not surprising, because in my current career I was making as much as I was planning on making when I reached the wage ceiling of life coaching. I felt that life coaching was my calling; however the fire was not there no matter how much I told myself it was. The amazing part is not only did I struggle to create my business; I struggled beyond my imagined struggle. Clients who I thought would work with me, did not want to work with me. I would sign up family members to build my experience and they would not want to continue after the first session. I was flabbergasted as to why I was struggling so much.

As I read Wacek’s article it dawned on me that I was struggling because I planned to struggle. Not only that, I am such a powerful creator that I created more struggle then I ever imagined. I asked for and received a struggling life coaching business. Even if by the grace of God Oprah gave me a magical referral and I became rich and famous, with my current belief system I would eventually bring myself back down to the $40000 a year struggling life coaching business.

Well no longer. It is time for me to start dreaming big. I am going to be putting all the Law of Attraction lessons I have learned towards my business. I can feel the energy shifting for me righ

t now as I now imagine myself living a very comfortable life as a six-figure coach

Thinking big is already getting me:

1. More room to grow my business. Before when I imagined a struggling coaching business the feeling and thought behind the business was confining. The choices of actions to take to grow the business seemed to be so important because there was only so much I could handle. By thinking big the thought of my business is expanding. A $40000 a year coach only does so much; a successful six-figure coach can do anything.

2. To follow up on opportunities. Being a small time coach meant that the opportunity would just lead to being a small time coach. The excitement to follow up just was not there. Now I am following up on many more opportunities and actively pursuing clients. I am going to get my hours and get my certification with the ICF because that is a stepping stone to something great.
3. To notice more opportunities. Thinking small programs my brain to think small. My unconscious mind would not notice when opportunity was knocking at my door. I now allow opportunities to come on in.To accept success. Thinking like a $40000 a year coach would only allow me to accept being a $40000 a year coach. Chances are it would allow me to be an $8000a year coach wishing to be a $40000 a year coach.
4. More ideas then I have ever imagined. I have had more ideas to grow my business in the last two months than I have had in the previous two years.
5. To know that failure is not such a big deal. When thinking small each failure was huge, because so much hinged on each idea. When thinking big, each failure is just a stepping stone and allows me to learn what does not work or how to make it work. I am putting the saying, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn,” to work.

If you are in a similar position, I invite you to take this leap with me. Think big and notice what shifts inside of you. Imagine your business as more successful than you imagined it to be yesterday and notice what that does for you. You will gain amazing insights into the growth of your business. You and I both will be looking back a year from today surprised at how much has changed.

3 Perspectives on Integrity

1. Integrity with others. When you tell the truth with others people respect you. If you lie and you get caught in your lies people lose trust in you. Your word is your bond.
2. Integrity with yourself. Same with other people if you lie to yourself you will not believe yourself. Tell yourself that you are going to start working out and then you do not work out, you are not going to believe yourself the next time you tell yourself you are going to work out.
3. Integrity with how you feel. When you are not in integrity with your emotions people just do not trust you. They might not be able to put a finger on it, however they will just feel that you are untrustworthy.

Develop these three integrity perspectives and you will become a natural leader.

Continue reading »]]> Integrity is important if you want to live a joyful life. Having integrity means that you are living with a steadfast adherence to your strict moral and ethical code. If you are going to be a leader then having integrity is essential. It is hard to trust people who do not display integrity. Since we are all leaders in at least one way, integrity is a very important inner way of being intention for you to write. Especially since one of the people you have to lead is you. It all starts with you.

This blog series will be about three different perspectives of integrity. The second perspective is integrity with yourself.

Every time you tell yourself that you are going to do something and you do not do that something, you lose trust in yourself. One of the most popular ways people lose trust in themselves is the snooze alarm. Every time you set the alarm you are telling yourself that you are going to wake up at that time. Hitting the snooze alarm is a way you break the promise to yourself to wake up on time. Breaking enough promises to yours

elf causes you to not trust you. Then you might do things like treat yourself like a child and set your clock to a different time so you will be on time.

This damages you because every time you make plans you have to create new ways to trick yourself into doing what you want to do. This wastes a lot of energy because it is much easier to make a plan and follow through.

My Inner way of being intention:

With sage wisdom and inner joy I love myself by keeping promises to myself.

Homework:

Every time you make a promise to yourself and then break it write yourself an apology note to make it up to yourself. Build integrity with yourself so you will be able to reach your goals.

Continue reading »]]> People starting coaching businesses need to choose a name for their new business. This is something that causes some stress as a name needs to stand out and be a great representation and vision for the coaching practice.

When I sat down and began thinking of a name and URL for my business, the first thing that came to mind was Joyful Expansion. After some thinking, I decided that Joyous Expansion was actually a great fit.. The only negative I could think of was that the URL might be read as joyou sex pansion. Since joyou and pansion are not real words, I felt it was safe and I registered the domain and trademarked the name for business. I was lucky to have my first choice to be available.

In October, I took a class called Living Your Vision by Invite Change. In this class, I developed both a purpose and vision statement for how I want to live my life. It is a very powerful to read both of these statements that fits me perfectly. It gives me something to strive for and a way to live my life. One thing that both my vision and purpose statement have in common is the word joy. The word joy is one of the most important words in my life. Every morning I make the decision that this day is a day I am going to live with joy.

There are many emotions and each one can be learned from and has great value I have learned a lot from sadness, anger, worry, resentment, jealousy and fear. The main thing I learn from the non-joy emotions are ways to bring myself back into joy. Learning from each of those emotions is important, so I can be in a place constant joy. Being in joy does not mean being a person like Kenneth from 30 Rock. It is not being simple, but a way of being from the inside. There are many people who are all smiles and full of the Pollyanna attitude on the outside, and are sad and miserable on the inside. I am not about applying a fresh coat of joy paint on my sad house. I am about fixing the foundation to one of joy, building a house of purpose and decorating the house with conscious intentions.

It is my vision to work with you from the inside-out approach. Let’s go deep into your life and scrape away all of the muck so you can radiate joy from your heart. Work with me to live your life intentionally with purpose and joy. Together we will co-create an action plan to bring more joy into your life, find ways to move through your emotional and psychological barriers, and work on creating a supportive environment for joy.
